3 Common Lead Lengths & When to use them

Short Leads (1.2-1.8m)

Ideal for walking in crowded areas or areas with leash laws, as they offer better control over your dog. Suitable for training purposes, as they keep your dog close and focused on you. Useful for teaching commands like "heel" or "stay."

Medium Leads (1.8-3m)

Provide more freedom of movement for your dog while still maintaining some control. Great for walks in less crowded areas or for training exercises where you want your dog to have a bit more space but still be within reach.

Long Leads (5-10m)

Often used for training, recall exercises, or teaching commands at a distance. Allow your dog more freedom to roam while still being under your control. Useful for activities like tracking or trailing.
